Sarasota

Today I spoke with Sut at New Pass Grill & Bait Shop in Sarasota. Sut was telling me that the fishing is on an up swing and that "There is plenty of action if you just want to catch fish!". There are lots of bluefish around and his customers are reporting good numbers of redfish. Trout fishing is very slow, but there are lots of big pompano around, the whiting are starting to show, and there are even some small tarpon in the back waters. Live shrimp is your best bait but pinfish also work well. Offshore, Sut's customers are reporting a few spanish mackerel. With grouper fishing closed in the federal waters of the Gulf, where the keeper fish are, your best bet are snapper. For more information contact;
