Key's Fishing Fun Through Summer
Key West Fishing Report
Updated fishing reports for the flats and offshore
April 22, 2009
The days are reaching their peak of spring now. We are seeing some calm days and last week was a good tarpon week. The bigger tarpon have moved through the backcountry basins and are now starting to string out along the ocean. It's going to be fun fishing now through the summer months for tarpon.
Bonefish are also making a big comeback with the warmer temperatures the bones are moving along the sandy flats of the backcountry. Permit are a little scarce right now but there are still some roaming the flats.
Considering a trip to the Keys for flats fishing? The summer and fall months are terrific for bonefish, permit and baby tarpon. Summer fishing is hot here but well worth it if you can take the time off. The crowds are minimal and the fishing grounds are teeming with great opportunities.
