Redfish Action As Good As It Gets

All of my October and November clients to date have had exceptional redfish action. You can see all my heroes (the fish) in my photo gallery.Speckled trout action has been warming up as the water cools. The past few days have brought limit catches for my clients with fish up to 21-inches.It don't matter what you throw out there right now, but top water lure chunkers have been eating it up.But the best by far, for us anyway, is a 1/8th ounce jig under a 3-inch rattle cork. Be it Cajun Thunder, DOA or brand-x all seems to produce. The DOA cork and shrimp combo has been working well for Capt. William Toney. I prefer Cotee 3-inch grubs in rootbeer and goldflake. Wal-Mart sells them.Redfish action has been as good as it gets since the mid 80's with school after school to fish. Spoons, top waters, pins or shrimp all work.Trout have been in about 4-feet of water and are moving closer to the creek mouths with the cooler weather. Look for spotty bottom and kelp patches to fish over. The bottom will look yellow and mostly void of all grass except the long stringee stuff that looks like huge brown moss with beads attached.Enjoy the cooler weather and take a kid fishing!
