Ft Lauderdale Fish Are Scattered

I spoke with KC at Kingsbury & Sons Tackle in Ft Lauderdale this morning. He was telling me that tarpon are thick in the inlets. A blue crab, pass crab, or fresh dead sardine fished on the bottom is a good way to jump a few tarpon. Snook are in the inlets and on the beach. Pinfish and finger mullet are the best live baits, redtail hawks and top water plugs such as the Zara Spook are the best artificials. Offshore, dolphin are scattered. Look for them around weedlines, floating debris, and color breaks. Sailfish are farther south near Miami in 60ft - 200ft of water. Troll live bait or ballyhoo to find the sails. Wahoo are scattered off of Palm Beach in 150ft - 400ft of water. Trolling an ILand Lure with a ballyhoo is the best way to locate the wahoo. The best fishing is for mangrove and yellowtail snapper on the reefs. Fishing at night is more productive and more comfortable. Use a lot of chum to get the bite going, then drop shrimp, squid, or silversides into the slick. For more information contact;
