Panhandle Fishing Report 4-2-10
Report for 04/02/2010
Salt Water
DESTIN
Cobia are finally in some good numbers, one boat had 4 on Thursday. Eels, jigs and live mullet are working best. Spanish have also started showing up and should be good early in the week.
On the jetties and the Destin bridge there is a good bite of sheepshead and reds on live shrimp and fiddler crabs. The pompano are in the surf on sand fleas and fiddler crabs.
Grouper opened on Thursday and there were some really nice catches about 20 miles offshore. Along with the groupers there were some nice amberjack and a few triggers and vermillion snappers.
On the pier they have seen a couple cobia and sheepshead. There again they should have Spanish early in the week.
