Well, here we are in the month of September. Snook season is open and we are catching plenty of them. Sometimes the problem is catching one in the slot to take home for the family fish fry.
The weather is still predictable, with our thunderstorms building in the afternoon and raining in the evenings. This is a good thing because it will help cool down the evening for the rest of the night.
The fishing has been good. We are catching some nice snook. Ken Snyder caught his biggest snook on Sept. 2. It was a 39 ¾ “ Way to go Ken…Of course this fish was too big to keep, so we released it in good shape to be caught another day…This fishing trip was a birthday gift from his wife, Paula. They had a great day catching snook, grouper, trout and ladyfish. BTW Happy Birthday Ken.
A few weeks ago, I had the Ply’s Family. We also had a great day on the water. The weather was just fine. It started to rain a little, but on a warm day, that can feel pretty good. Just about the time it started to sprinkle the fish started to bite. We caught a couple big snook, (36-39”) quite a few redfish (in the slot) and our limit on trout. Oh, yea, I can’t forget the tarpon. A tarpon about 40-45 inches long. At the end of the day they totaled up what was caught and ended up with a count of 14 snook, 31 redfish and 6 trout and 1 tarpon. Now, that’s what I call a great day of fishing.
It is never too early to reserve you day/days for your fishing experience. We are taking bookings now for the fall and on into the summer months of 2008. So as soon as you know when you are coming down, give us a call and reserve your day. We very seldom have to cancel because of the weather. Here in the Everglades National Park/10,000 Islands, we usually have plenty of places to catch fish regardless of the weather.
So what are you waiting for? Pick up the phone and make that call…..for that fishing trip you have been thinking about…..The weather is nice and the fishing is great.
