I spoke with Tom at Annie's Bait & Tackle in Cortez this afternoon. He tells me that the fishing is great! The white bait have moved into the area and this has turned on the fish. Redfish, sheepshead, and snook can be caught in Sarasota Bay. Sheepshead are every where and the snook can be found around structure in the early evening. Large shrimp are the best bait for the snook. On the beach, spanish mackerel are thick and Tom's customers are also catching some snapper from the beach. Grouper are biting offshore.
