Thorpe McKenzie - West of Key West
Tommy asked me to send out this photo as proof of what one more cast on a not so perfect day of fishing can result in. You know Tommy - Never give up! Just bought Tommy a round trip plane ticket home for next weekend but then he heads right back to the Keys until mid-November. FYI - the first weekend in November is still open for some Permit fishing...
Meanwhile, back at the ranch, or more correctly the River, I'm getting reports that you could walk across the the trout they're so thick right now. Capt. Tommy Holland (the other Tommy) fished the river Tuesday when it was blowing up to 20. They ended up fishing a whole day instead of only half because they just kept on catching trout after trout that were 14.5 or 14.75 inches long. Yes, the size limit is 15". It's just as fun to catch them & put them back! I do have guides open this weekend if you can sneak in a quick trip.
Capt. Chris Robinson asked me yesterday "Where is everybody? We've got some of the best fall fishing RIGHT NOW and hardly anybody here to fish with!" He's just purchased a new duck boat that he's itching to take someone redfishing in. Capt. Nathan is out scout fishing today with his girlfriend Lauren - his homework is to get photos of Pretty Girl with Pretty Trout. Capt. David Heinke plans to catch the first striped bass of the season - I'll let you know when he succeeds as a certain number of our fishing clients have expressed an interest in some striper fishing.
If you fished with us this year, the very next email you will probably be receiving from me is going to be about re-upping for 2008. Start looking at your calendar and be ready to let me know one way or the other. If I don't hear from you - have a great weekend!
