I spoke with Phil at Captain Pete's Bait & Tackle in Naples today. Phil took a trip into the Gulf of Mexico yesterday along with a friend form up north. "We killed them!", he told me. Fishing in 70ft of water, there party landed dozens of grouper and around 30 lane snapper each. The grouper were undersized. Also, grouper fishing is still closed in federal waters of the Gulf, so they released all that they caught. The snapper were mostly between 15" -17", but Phil's friend caught four larger fish just before the winds picked up and chased them off of the water. For more information contact:
