Gulf Piers are Slow

I just got off the phone with the fishing piers in Pensacola, Fort Walton Beach, and Clearwater Beach. Pensacola Beach Gulf Pier told me that things are dead with not much of anything being caught. Okaloosa Island Pier has a few king mackerel and a few spanish mackerel being caught, but not much more. I am told that the biggest problem is the S.E. wind. Bait fish swim into the wind, so when it is out of the south in the panhandle, the bait schools stay farther offshore. At Big Pier 60 on Clearwater Beach, anglers are catching keeper size sheepshead and spanish mackerel. The sheepshead are biting live shrimp and the spanish mackerel will hit #0, or #00 Clark Spoons or Got-Cha Plugs. For more information contact;
