Charlotte Harbor

I spoke with Jeff at Fishin' Franks Bait & Tackle in Port Charlotte today. He was telling me that tarpon fishing in Boca Grande Pass is of coarse as hot as the weather, but there is also great fishing for those who don't want to catch a fish that is as bib as they are. Many nice cobia are being caught between the bridge to Punta Gorda and the Bay shore Pier. The cobia are feeding best on sugar trout in about 6' of water. The Placida area is holding lots of redfish. A live or dead shrimp on a jig head fisher around mangrove shore line or oyster bars will catch redfish. For more information contact;
