I spoke with Nancy at MacRae's Bait House in Homosassa today. She tells me that her customers are doing very well on redfish, speckled trout, and grouper. The redfish bite is excellent around St Martins Keys. Cut bait fished around mangroves, oyster bars, and rock piles is producing some nice sized redfish. Anglers are limiting out on big speckled trout, during the tide change, around the Chassahowitzka National Wildlife Refuge. Live shrimp and Berkley Gulp Jerk Shad are the best baits. Inshore rock piles and springs, in about 10' of water, are producing some keeper grouper. Larger grouper are being caught farther offshore in 25' of water around rocks and other structure. Pinfish and sardines are the bait of choice for grouper inshore and offshore. For more information contact;
