Sarasota

I was just speaking with Sut at New Pass Grill & Bait Shop in Sarasota. He says to "Tell everyone the fishing is great!". Inshore, his customers are catching redfish, snook, spanish mackerel, and some decent speckled trout. He says that there are not a lot of trout being caught, but those that are being taken are good sized. He also says that there are a lot more trout being caught this year then this time last year. Offshore, his customers are catching king mackerel, spanish mackerel, snapper, and permit. Sut tells me that the only real problem that they are having is a lack of bait. He is having a hard time getting shrimp, and there is not a lot of bait fish in the area right now. He recommends that you use frozen shrimp or cut bait. For more information contact;
