North Skyway Fishing Pier

I spoke with Mike at the North Skyway Fishing Pier in St Petersburg this morning. He tells me that the fishing is great with a nice mix of fish being caught. Mangrove snapper moved in last week and have been the most consistent catch. A live shrimp fished on the bottom will produce lots of nice sized mangos. Spanish mackerel are also very consistent. A #0, or #00 Clark Spoon or a Got-Cha Plug will catch lots of spanish mackerel at sun up and late afternoon. King mackerel fishing is good but starting to slow. Blue runners and greenbacks are the best baits for kingfish. Grouper fishing is still good, but most of the fish are shorts. Tarpon are rolling all along the pier. Free line a live pinfish or greenback on heavy tackle to jump some tarpon. Big bull sharks are also cruising the pier. For more information contact;
