Port Orange

I spoke with Billy at Howard's Bait & Tackle Inc. in Port Orange. He was telling me that offshore waters are rough and few anglers have gotten out. Inshore waters are a little choppy but the fishing is good. Look for redfish around docks, oyster bars and tidal creeks. Live shrimp, mullet, and cut mullet are all good baits for redfish. Flounder fishing is good on mud flats, around bridges, and in drop offs of the intracoastal. Live shrimp and mud minnows are the best baits for flounder. Speckled trout are on the grass flats, around docks, and in the deeper holes behind sand bars. Jigs tipped with shrimp and lures will catch trout. For more information contact;
