Port Saint Joe

I was talking with Mike at Scallop Cove Bait & Tackle on St Joseph Peninsula this afternoon. He tells me that redfish and speckled trout are biting on the grass flats and on the beach. Top water lures, live bait fish, and shrimp are all good baits for trout and reds. Pompano and spanish mackerel are also biting well on the beach. Sand flees and shrimp are the best baits for pompano, bubble rigs, Got-Cha Plugs, and Clark Spoons will catch spanish mackerel. Mike was telling me that offshore fishing was good before the winds picked up today. Anglers heading into the Gulf were catching grouper, lane snapper, and king mackerel. Pinfish are good bait for grouper and snapper, trolling blue runners,hard tails, or whatever bait fish is swimming in the area will catch king mackerel. For more information contact;
